words of wisdom

I was inspired to stitch this as I wanted to elaborate on my idea of little reminders and make something more detailed, a tactile textile book of sorts. A hand stitched, handbook, a manual for life, something to treasure and keep and be sought out when needed.  It's hard to capture all the details and quotes I've included, hence so many photographs, but I hope I've given you a sense of it .... I'm already gathering ideas for a companion piece called  'words of comfort......

  6. I really love your scroll that has now become next years project ,one similar to your beautiful one.
This year Ive been involved in a fabric book page swap my theme was mermaids and the crazy quilt block challenge.
My CQ blocks are about to be made into their book with very similar quotes to your scroll on the back of each block and the mermaid book will have extra pages with mermaid poems, quotes .
I so love your style of textile work especially your colours .

  7. Hello Christine, another special and beautiful reminder, I will never be tired to admire all your tiny details. Have started a birthday gift and it will be like what we did in the workshop. Lovely memories of that very day, I think it was the best day of the whole year 2014-but the year is not over yet ;-)
