all wrapped up

Now completed, the piece I started at the Primmy and Jessie Chorley workshop at Cowslip in Cornwall.  I've used a puttee for the backing, which I've quilted with a simple running stitch and then appliqued on linen leaves and grubby linen buttons.  I have a few of these and I like the dark green wool - I plan to use them for some other embroidered pieces....watch this space.
Thanks again to everyone who leaves a comment here - (or who just comes to look) - I really appreciate all your comments and love to hear from you - you can always pop to facebook too and say hello to me there.

What a fabulous result. Great contrast between the rough puttee outside and the gentler sentiment & creamy colours inside. Yum yum!

Christine, this is so beautiful. I love the look of it when folded with the buckle and strap fastening, it looks like a gorgeous bag. There are so many elements that I love, the exquisite stitching, embroidered sentiments, dirty buttons. I could go on but I will just say I love, love, love it! Jayne x

wonderful - i have hundreds of tattered linens from my grandmother - A story roll would be a great use of those.
I'm inspired.
