A one day workshop where you will hand stitch a brooch or small artwork using vintage textile treasures and add words to give meaning, to comfort or inspire.

Looking back, and forwards...

A glimpse of some of my favourite images from 2013, some things I've made that I'm really happy with and me and my stall at the Selvedge Winter Fair. Thanks to everyone who comes here to read and look and thanks for all the lovely comments you leave, it's good to share the things I stitch with you.  I'm looking forward now to 2014 and I've got lots of creative plans, I'll share with you along the way.

My favourite part of making these dolls is playing around selecting just the right fabrics for their clothes from all my vintage bits and bobs, and sewing on tiny beads....

2 weeks to go

Sorry I haven't posted much of late. I've been stitching away making work for the Selvedge Winter Fair, now only two weeks away! I am nervous and excited! Here are some of the things I have been making. There are more dolls to show you and I've been working on a special piece that isn't quite finished yet - hope to show it to you soon. Hello, sorry I haven't posted for a while - I've been busy making for the next two fairs I'll be attending in November - the Crafty Vintage Market in Bishops Castle, Shropshire on the 2nd November and the Selvedge Fair on 29th and 30th of November in London, you can click on the images on my sidebar for more details. new brooches, wear a little gentlework

I've been enjoying stitching these little brooches lately. When I'm making, I never throw any scrap of fabric or lace away, however small and I have boxes and tins of little bits and pieces all around my workroom. Is that something you do too? It's lovely to re-use these bits and bobs, adding a few precious buttons and highlighting with tiny beads, to turn them into something new. I like to add a few words, (typed on my vintage green typewriter!) for comfort or inspiration....
